6th March 2006

Venue:   Boars Head PH, Dover.

Present:  Tim Padfield, Bill Browning, Gary Cattermole, Mark Padfield, Darren Herbert, Paul Padfield,

Apologies:      John Wheeler, Mick Padfield,

AGENDA ITEM 1- Gary informed the meeting that he had still not received a response from Jill Smith concerning his enquiry about whether or not we could obtain a credit card from MBNA.

He also informed the meeting that we had now changed our hosting server for the website, this would cost £26.90 for the first year. We now had 1GB of web space, which meant that we had a lot of surplus space. We had begun the task of expanding the picture pages and 2 new pages, Merchandise and a tribute page to DB10, had already been added. Gary informed the meeting that since the site had been moved we now had access to a stats page, in the first month we had had a combined total of about 10,500 hits and visits. Gary advised the committee that he was aware that a number of members run their own business, it was agreed that if they wanted it we would add a page to the site for them to have links to their businesses websites, this would be a free service.  Darren also suggested having a reports page where members could post their own view on games that they had attended.

Tim also said the Mick would be looking into whether or not it would be worthwhile us carrying adverts for companies not associated with the club.

ACTION POINT - Gary to send out an e-mail to all members to see if there is interest in adding a links page to the website for any members who might want to advertise their companies

ITEM 2 – Tim advised the meeting that Mick had been researching the issue of membership cards for next season. He had a number of samples which Mick had obtained. It was decided to leave this issue to Mick and he should obtain some proofs and return to the committee.

The issue of introducing a family membership fee was also discussed for next season. The issue was generally well received; a fee of £15 was discussed. It was agreed to revisit this issue at a committee meeting before the AGM so that if  it was decided to adopt the idea , the amendment to the club rules could be drafted and advertised in the requisite manner, so that it could be discussed and voted on at the AGM.

Gary informed the meting that membership numbers had now reached 160, with us now having 33 silver members. The committee were aware that a number of Silver members could well be offered season tickets in the near future. It was decided that Gary should put out a general e-mail asking that if this should happen, we would ask the member to keep the silver membership active. He would also ask any members who were offered silver memberships to take them up, as this would increase the number of tickets we could purchase for each game. Gary also bought it to the committees attention that he was aware that a number of non silver members who had had tickets from us had found that they could not attend games and had past them on to other members of the Dover Gooners. It was decided that Gary would issue an e-mail which reminded any non silver members, who had match tickets, that if they found that they could not attend a game the ticket must be returned to the committee for them to reallocate.

ITEM 3 – It was agreed to hold the AGM in the first week of June. Gary was asked to see if he could secure the Rugby club for this purpose. Darren asked if it would be possible to secure a prize, similar to last year, so that we could again hold a free raffle. It was decide to ask Mick if he could look into this.

ITEM 4 – The end of season BBQ is still due to take place on 29th May. Once Matt has supplied the menu Gary will e-mail it to the members to get final numbers.

ITEM 5 – Tim informed the meeting that the account now stood at £769.70. We had recently send Julian Vernon his cheque for £50 and Gary had recently paid the new hosting package, for the website, which cost £26.90 Mick had sold a number of pin badges on ebay and he was now looking into placing some on a sit recommended by a fellow Gooner

ITEM 6 - Gary said that if possible he would like to run a c9oach to the final game at Highbury, 7th May when Arsenal play Wigan. It was discussed at length and it was decided that Gary should circulate an e-mail to gauge the feelings of the members.

Meeting closed at 2000.
