31st AUGUST 2005
Venue: Boars Head PH, Dover. Present: Mick Padfield, Tim Padfield, Bill Browning, Gary Cattermole, Mark Padfield, Darren Herbert, Paul Padfield, John Wheeler & James Cattermole Apologies: David Browning, AGENDA ITEM 1- It was confirmed that this years Christmas Dinner would again be held at Bluebirds on 4th December 2005. Mick told the meeting he was already working on prizes for this year's raffle, all proceeds from this years raffle will again go to Arsenal's chosen charity, which this season is the David Rocastle Trust. Mick will be sending out a series of letter in the very near future. He is also working hard to try to find a guest speaker. The meeting agreed that the club funds could probably afford to pay £250. It was discussed as to whether a much larger price could be charged for the tickets this year, but this idea was not accepted. Price of this year's dinner will be set once Gary can confirm the price of the meal with Bluebirds. Mr Hill Wood will be invited again, along with Jill Smith & Katie Green, Arsenal's Supporters clubs co-ordinators, Vic and Perry Groves. In a change from last year live music will be provided, probably between 1630 and 1830. Action Points - Gary to confirm price of meal with Bluebirds and whether or not there can be live entertainment on a Sunday lunch time. ITEM 2 The rule amendments discussed at the AGM where considered. It was decided that Gary would go away and draft the amendments and e-mail them to the other committee members for approval before sending them out to the members and posting them on the website. Action point - Gary to draft suggested amendments to the current rules. ITEM 3 James advised the meeting he was unable to put various pages on the website due to limited space; it was pointed out that the pictures and videos could not yet go on. He pointed out that the only way to achieve this was to get more space. He said that he would speak to Stuart Honey to achieve this, if Stuart could not offer us more space then he would find out how we change to another sever. It was agreed that this would all be left in James' hands. It was felt that with the extra income from the memberships this season, some of this money could be spent, annually on upgrading the site. Action point - James to arrange more web space. ITEM 4 With Christmas almost upon us Mick has again agreed to sort out the Christmas merchandise; however, due to problems that he encountered with this season homes shirt he would consider other ways of ordering, collecting and distributing. He did say that any errors on an order, made by a member, this would have to be sorted out by them and if items were out of stock the order would be returned to the member and they would have to reorder in the usual way ITEM 5 Gary informed the committee that at present we have about 118 registered members and that despite our fears not many of the original members, who have to pay a fee this season, have failed to reregister. It has also become apparent that there is an untapped source of members in Folkestone. ITEM 6 Mick said that he still wanted to arrange the golf day at Stonelees. various dates were discussed and it was agreed that it would be held on 8th October. Mick will sort the rules and pass them on to Gary for him to distribute. ITEM 7 - Gary informed the meeting that he would contact Jill Smith to see if there was any chance of getting block tickets for an away game in the future so we could offer a trip for the members. He also said that on the final home game of the season, he would look into running a coach, so that members could have a drink and enjoy the final game at Highbury. Meeting closed at 2115.
