11th September 2006

Venue:            Boars Head PH, Dover.

Present:        Tim Padfield, Gary Cattermole, John Wheeler,  Mick Padfield,

Apologies:   Bill Browning, Mark Padfield, Darren Herbert, Paul Padfield

AGENDA ITEM 1- Gary gave the meeting an update on the Extranet. Arsenal expects it to be live in 2 weeks. At present we will have 2 people with access to it, Gary and Mick.

ITEM 2 – The position concerning membership was discussed. At present it stands at about 250. It was decided to send an e-mail to members advising them that we have now closed our membership books until further notice.

ITEM 3 – Gary brings to the attention of the committee that on some occasions he has had to cover small shortages in paying for ticket on his credit card, so that the club avoid paying interest fees. The committee though that this was unacceptable and in future the club would cover any shortages if people are slow in paying their money for tickets. If this does happen then the club may consider charging a small late payment fee to the ‘guilty’ members.

Mick told the meeting that the club accounts currently stood at about £1,200. He suggested that as we now have a decent ‘float’ the club could consider buying a new purpose made banner.

ITEM 4 – It was decided to run a coach to the home game against Spurs on 2nd December, which is the day before the Christmas dinner. We could use Roberts or Poynters and charge about £10 per person. It is know that other clubs charge £14 for adults and £10 for OAPs and Children.

ITEM 5 – Mick informed the meeting that we currently have about 130 names for this years Christmas dinner, very few of these are new names, despite the rise in membership numbers. It was decided to invite Terry Neill the night before and to pay for his accommodation.

For next year Mick will investigate the possibility of having unique club badges made.

ITEM 6 – It was discussed whether or not each committee member should be given a role to assist Gary and Mick with their various tasks, e.g. to help Gary to distribute tickets to members who live locally or to help Mick with organising the dinner. At this stage both said that they could cope, but should the situation change they would raise the issue again.

ITEM 7- Mick told the meeting that once we are requested to submit our Christmas, he would put out the necessary form to the members and deal with the club direct.

Meeting closed 2000
